Acne
Acne are blemishes that develop after hair follicles get clogged with dead skin cells, sebum (oil) and bacteria. The most common skin problem in the U.S., acne can be stressful and painful and can even cause scarring.
Skin allergies develop when your immune system overreacts to a harmless substance (allergen). As your body fights back, pesky and often painful symptoms, such as a rash, can develop.
Lumps, bumps and moles are common skin growths that are caused by factors such as family history and exposure to ultraviolet rays. Most of these growths are benign.
Most birthmarks are harmless spots, patches or lumps that are present at birth, though some can appear later in life. They vary greatly in size, shape and texture and can appear anywhere on the body.
Warts are benign skin growths that are caused by the human papillomavirus. Molluscum Contagiosum (water warts) are small wart-like growths that are also caused by a viral infection.
